Urma Mollema is a successful Business Professional with 30 years experience in diverse industries including Financial Services and Project Management. With proven success in building up businesses, she is a leader and innovator, as well as a creative and effective problem-solver with over 15 years of experience as a working Mortgage professional.
Urma was the first mortgage broker to start a business in South Africa, netting over $40 Million in mortgage business in just four months of working. Her business grew so fast, she soon employed a full-time staff of Mortgage Brokers, and within one year, her business became the biggest producer of mortgage volume in the Bank in South Africa.
In 1999, Urma was nominated for South Africa’s “Businesswoman of the Year” and in 2000, she was so successful, she was able to franchise her business, forming the Wizard Group of companies, South Africa’s largest franchise in the history of the mortgage industry, with 100 offices nationwide. She later sold that franchise and eventually moved to Canada where she worked for two national mortgage companies as a National Director of Franchise Development, making the list as a woman of influence in 2016, as well as making the Hot List of Real Estate in 2017. Her many skills involve efficiently and effectively implementing and managing goals, formulating strategies to overcome any business challenge and exceptional communication skills, especially when it comes to meeting and speaking with people.

Urma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a certificate in Project Management from Trinity Western University, BC. She has also won several awards including ‘Business Woman of the Year (Gauteng North) in 1998, ‘Top Mortgage Broking Agency’ for Nedbank 1998-2002, ‘Business Woman of the Year’ (Pretoria) in 2009, ‘Business Woman of the Year’ as the owner/operator of the Mrs. South Africa Pageant in 2007 and the ‘Woman of Influence (CMP)’ in 2016.
She is also very community-focused and connected. She is active in her local communities, acting as Rotary Board Member for the Rotary Club of Meadow Ridge, Chairperson for the Wine Festival Committee and Chairperson for the October Festival Committee. She was also a Rotary President for Pretoria-East in South Africa, where she received the Paul Harris Award for her outstanding contributions.
